Shine a Light for Will Washburn
Hurricane sports community mourns the loss of Will Washburn
Hurricane community gathers for memorial to remember 8th grade basketball player Will Washburn
"There are actions that create great moments, but GREATNESS is measured by much more than one moment. Will was GREAT. He was kind, compassionate, thoughtful, talented, loving, helpful and loved whole heartedly. His kindness has imprinted in our hearts and will never be forgotten."
BRIDGET WASHBURN / MOTHER
"His energy was contagious, so that’s how I’d like us to continue to honor him. Keep that energy alive. If you’re playing basketball, shoot a few extra free throws with a smile- or in Wills case, a few extra 3 pointers. If you’re in the batting cage, swing a few extra times with a smile. Work hard with a new energy in honor of Will. Smile at someone you may not have even realized is in the room. Help someone you would have not otherwise recognized- because these are the qualities that he possessed."
BRIAN WASHBURN / FATHER
"As there are many things I’ll always carry with me, the most important part to “us” was that we always had fun together. So many people have always told me, and even more recently, the love Will and I had for each other was so special and admirable. I will hold our relationship near and dear in my heart forever."
BRIANNA WASHBURN / SISTER
